Your skin is the largest organ of the body and acts as a protective barrier from harmful pollutants, objects, and liquids. However, the skin can easily absorb ingredients that are applied to it, so what you put on it can actually be harmful to your health! Oil A refined hydrocarbon derived from petroleum. It can not be absorbed by the skin. Rather it is said to "Seal the Skin". Mineral Oil actually prevents the skin from functioning properly. Adequate
sunscreens are important everyday! This is a simple matter of fact,
however, many people do not understand what "SPF" means.
SPF is Sun Protection Factor. It is the amount of time you can stay
in the sun without burning. As an example, I will usually start
to burn in 30 minutes. If I use an SPF -15, I can stay in the sun
15 times longer which in this case would be 2 1/5 hours. Not
forever. It is also important apply sufficient amount.
A good rule of thumb is two fingers width. And it's important to
reapply every two hours. If you are going swimming, apply your sunscreen
